The method which children use their present understanding of the world around them to understand new experiences that they are faced with.
Example: A child tried to pick up a ball that is too big for their hand. Based on previous experiences, the child thought they would be able to pick up the ball, that is too big for their hand, with one hand. The child based their new experience off of their older experience.
